Job Detail: Strategic Duties • Participating in implementing and transforming policies, goals and plans into medium and short-term plans to ensure internal work development and productivity increase. • Participating in the development of the section’s work plan; distributing and following-up on work activities, projects and programs, monitoring work flow and reviewing work methods and procedures. • Suggesting plans and programs that strive to boost the effectiveness of the Section. • Conducting periodic meetings with subordinates to ensure that priorities are clear and actions are running smoothly. Executive & Technical Duties • Collecting and soliciting quotations before preparing comparative statements which involves evaluating suppliers in terms of quality, price, reputation, availability, past performance, reliability and distribution capabilities. • Reviewing and evaluating suppliers, vendors or sub contractors proposals and using effective methods to compare prices and obtain the materials required for the execution of the project at the required time and quality. • Meeting with suppliers, vendors or sub contractors to negotiate prices and negotiate deals for obtaining the required supplies or services. • Leading the selection process of vendors, suppliers or subcontractors to ensure maximum operational efficiency at sites and projects. • Establishing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with key, potential or regular vendors, suppliers or sub-contractors, as well obtaining best prices and quantity discounts when possible. • Assisting in the analysis of various types of purchasing requests, transactions and offers; determining the method of purchase and processing requisitions into purchase orders. • Establishing price objectives based on prepared studies of price trends and ensuring that the established price objectives are being met. • Providing assistance and support to the Procurement Department in using material management techniques to best suit their requirements. • Coordinating with the Materials Section within the Tendering Department in the preparation and review of required materials specifications within the quotation packages, including general and technical requirements. • Performing periodic updates and changes to the supplier/sub contractor database to provide ongoing and up to date improvements in selecting best offers in terms of quality and price.
